For the last 2 and a half days the soundtrack to my life has been chainsaws and tv news helicopters. Our suburb looks like a tornado struck. Maybe that's because it did :-)
We watched our street turn into a raging torrent complete with floating wheelie bins and uprooted trees. Very scary. The wind was incredible!
My studio was flooded and I have had to throw out a heap of stretchers that are bowed from water damage, waterlogged folios, paper, drawing boards and other stuff. I have filled up our trailer. Hopefully it will be covered by our contents insurance. I am relieved that none of my finished paintings are stored downstairs!
Still haven't finished cleaning up yet but I am really tired so I am having a day off today.
I am really glad our house made it through in one piece. One of my friends doesn't have a house anymore.

Hi Sue,
i am so sorry to hear about the damage to your studio
and the loss of folios and stretchers etc you must be devastated. You are being very strong about it all. BAD Co-op loves a good cause if there is anything we can do to help.
Hi Susan
it's cool. but thanks for your kind offer of help :-)
Hey Sue,
We were away but came home to a scene of devestation on Sunday. Our living room ceiling collapsed, our bedroom windows smashed, my garden, which I've spent four years on and loved dearly is absolutely pummelled. I've only really felt the effect today and have been a little depressed (mostly about the garden which was my pride and joy). BUT the guy next door has his house condemned, plus his wifes father was diagnosed with cancer last week and his father had a stroke two weeks ago....so, there but for the grace of God go I - that's what I keep saying to myself. I can't believe it, and am glad I wasn't here to witness it. I hope you can save heaps of stuff. I never realised it would be so distressing. Be well. Shell.
