work is good

First day at my new job today. Geez getting up at 4.15am is quite hard. It didn't take me as long as I thought to get there so I can sleep in a bit tomorrow :-)

After work i went into uni and did some work. I worked for about 4 hours so I am really happy with that. I have done about 3 metres of small paintings already. I was surprised that i had that much already. 1m to go :-)

Busy!

I am so busy at the moment. I am doing my uni work and working on a piece that needs to be finished next week for 15 artists. I am also starting my new job Monday morning and looking for a new place to live.

In the image below you can see what I have done so far for my 15 artists piece. I am really happy with it. I especially like the pieces with the typography in them. hopefully when the people in Redcliffe see my work they will recognise where I took the reference photos. I don't want it to be too obvious but a local will know.

My friend is in the US at the moment. I can't wait till she gets back so we can continue our tea ritual. We usually go to the tea shop to talk everyday we are at uni. I am missing our talks quite a lot.

Yesterday we got photos done of our paintings for the end of year catalogue. I quickly took this photo below of one of my glow in the dark paintings with my crappy digital camera. I am sure the professional photographer will do a much better job. The camera had a very long exposure as the room was only lit with a black light. Can't wait for the end of year exhibition :-) We are doing lots of fundraising to get the money together. I think we are having a bake sale at uni this thursday. Chocolate crackles are my speciality :-)

tomorrow

Can't wait to really get back into my art tomorrow. I have so many ideas I want to try. I have been organising the bouts for our derby team and it was really tiring. I am looking forward to skating just for fun :-) I have also just beaten the flu so it's back to the gym tomorrow also.

Sick

The flu finally got me for the last week but I am starting to feel better now. Back to work.

We have decided to sell our 4 bedroom house in the suburbs and move into town. I will have to start looking for a studio next year. The studio at uni is good for now, just a bit small.

It is week 4 at uni already! I will graduate at the end of this year. I am really looking forward to that. I am doing honours hopefully next year and will still be at uni but I am looking forward to a change in focus. I suppose it's mainly psychological :-)

Love at first sight

It's so nice to sell a painting to a person that you knows just loves it.

Back from Vegas and looking forward to going back to uni and painting again. Apart from the mural I haven't done any painting for about 6 weeks. But I have done preparation work and some research in Las Vegas. I went into the workshop at uni before I went overseas and made about 5 new strainers. I will probably stretch them tomorrow.
looking forward to getting back into it.
