The office door is always locked at night

The office door is always locked at night

I want to go and live in New York. The experience would be fantastic. I would rather spend money on living in another city for a few months than buying a new car. I can't wait to graduate so I can start applying for residencies.

Going in to uni today to do some work. My favourite thing. On Saturday there is hardly anyone at uni and it's nice and quiet.

Change is on the way

So... everyone pretty much knows by now that I am going through a relationship breakup. I am having to think about money and studio space at the moment. The studio space is okay at the moment as I can paint at uni as long as I am enrolled there, which will be for the next year and a bit. I won't be able to paint at the new place unfortunately. I have now got a part-time job but it doesn't cover all my costs, so I have to sell more paintings :-)

I sold a painting at the Brisbane Grammar School art show last weekend. I was really surprised. When I tell people that I get surprised they say, "are you crazy? you're work is great." hahaha It's just a great feeling when you sell a painting. It means that someone likes what you are doing and it gives you a bit of extra validation :-) I guess it's a confidence thing.

I got the work done for 15 Artists at Redcliffe Gallery. Because I was notified late, my name isn't on any of the adverts for the exhibition yet. I am a bit disappointed with it, because I think people think I am lying when i tell them I am in it :-) I am taking the work into the gallery tomorrow.

Off to the studio today to do some work. I still have lots to do before the end of year critique and exhibition. When I move it will be so much easier for me to get to the studio as I will be living only 10 minutes walk away. Something to look forward to :-)
