My studio

My favourite place is my studio right now. I am looking forward to the christmas break but it will mean not being in the studio for about 2 weeks... I will have withdrawl for sure. Working on some new paintings right now and experimenting on paper also. Love it!

ArtStart Grant

I am so excited! I got the Australia Council for the Arts ArtStart grant. The first grant application I have ever done.

I am one of two visual artists in Queensland to receive an Australia Council for the Arts ArtStart grant in the December round. The $10 000 ArtStart grant will enable me to establish, develop and market my emerging professional visual arts practice in Brisbane. This money will help pay for things like my studio rent, utilities and business development.

There were 261 visual arts applications and only 47 were successful.

Spending the day looking at galleries in Melbourne tomorrow and then on to Ballarat this weekend for the opening of Network a group exhibition I am participating in. Should be good :-)

I am actually starting to feel human again. I thought it would take a lot longer after finishing honours this year. I nearly have my new studio set up and new ideas are forming. Should find out about the art start grant soon too. I am really hoping I get that one as it will really help with setting up my arts practice.
